The Parish Council have been alerted to changes to Bus Route 384 and 385 by Stephensons of Essex which will impact the village of Thurston. The 384 and 385 will run Mondays to Fridays on Schooldays only with no services at the weekend. The new timetable will come into effect on 5 September 2022.

All existing 43,400 streetlights, maintained by Suffolk County Council, will be replaced with greener, LED streetlights during 2021 to 2022. This will include some of the standard streetlights maintained by Suffolk County Council in Thurston are set to be upgraded to more efficient and environmentally-friendly LED lanterns.
