Coronavirus – Thurston Parish Council status and updates

The Parish Council is fully staffed but we are following government guidelines which includes cancelling the public session of our parish council meetings, cancelling community engagement surgeries and the Annual Parish Meeting, working from home where we can and assessing all matters on a daily basis.

Update 4 September 2020

The Parish Council Office, effective 4 September 2020, following a COVID-19 Risk Assessment, will be opening the Parish Council Office for one day a week on a Friday between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

There will be a restriction on numbers entering the Parish Council Office at any one time and all will be expected to wear masks, observe social distancing guidelines and follow reasonable requests relating to COVID-19 measures as issued by the Parish Clerk.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 came in to effect at 12.01 on 14 September 2020 and amended in part changes to previous regulations approved earlier in the year.

The guidance to the regulations states that:

From 14 September, when meeting friends and family you do not live with (or have formed a support bubble with) you must not meet in a group of more than six, indoors or outdoors.

Outside of these opening hours the Clerk can be contacted on email: info@thurstonparishcouncil.gov.uk  or clerk@thurstonparishcouncil.gov.uk or on the office mobile: 07579 211938 as she will be working from home.

To ensure that questions from the public are answered during this period, all enquiries should be made by email: info@thurstonparishcouncil.gov.uk or telephone: 07579 211938.
