Jul. 6 - Sep. 1, 2020
Following an announcement made by Boris Johnson in June, relaxations of the lockdown have now come in to force which permit libraries, churches, pubs, bars and restaurants to re-open. Although things are slowly returning to normal, indoor gatherings are currently restricted to a maximum of two households only. Social distancing rules still apply in all indoor public places. This means that no events and activities are currently taking place in the village. The situation is fast-changing, and further announcements by the Government are likely to take place in the coming days and weeks. The end date of 1st September given above should be regarded as indicative and will be amended as the situation evolves.
The Benefice of Holy Innocents Church Great Barton and St Peter's Church is considering how to re-open both churches safely for services. There will be no gatherings where food or drink are served, including coffee after services, and any planned future events have been postponed. For more information, see the latest pew sheet which provides news and updates relating to the benefice.
Cavendish Hall is closed until further notice.
Thurston Library is reopening from Tuesday 7th July with restricted opening hours and services. There is more information about this on the Thurston Library Friends website.
All clubs, groups and organisations that meet in the village have suspended meetings, outings and activities. Some of these organisations have posted information about this suspension on their website: Baby Sensory, Blackbourne U3A, Little City, Rugby Tots, Slimming World, Women's Institute, WW (Weight Watchers)
