Please note that National Highways have asked that it be shared to affected Parish Councils that they plan to carry out essential resurfacing work on the A14 westbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 45. This will ensure the A14 continues to remain in a safe and serviceable condition.

They plan to complete this work over two nights between Thursday 4 July and Friday 5 July, working between 8pmand 6am, weather conditions permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, they will need to close the A14 westbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 45.

Traffic joining the A14 at junction 45 will be diverted via Sow Lane to join the A14 eastbound to junction 47, then travel westbound to junction 45. (Map 1)

When the exit slip road at junction 45 is closed, traffic will continue westbound on the A14 to exit at junction 44 and return via the A14 eastbound to exit at junction 45. (Map 2)

A map of the closures and diversions can be found below.
