Suffolk Highways - Upcoming Works - C691 Barton Road - Thurston and Thurston Road - Great Barton - Access information
The following information has been provided by Suffolk Highways regarding the best direction of approach into the works site while the road closure is in force.
For the first 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (13 – 15 Jan) the team are planning to work between the access road into to the Grange Hotel and Thurston (southbound) - therefore access will be encouraged from A143 at Great Barton.
On Thursday and Friday (16 – 17 Jan) the team are panning to be working between the access to the Grange Hotel and the A143 (northbound) - therefore best point of access would be from the Thurston end of the site.
This plan is subject to change, for example due to weather conditions or unforeseen issues on site but hopefully the works will complete as planned keeping disruption to a minimum.
Although the road will be closed to through traffic and a diversion route will be in place, access into the closure for residents, businesses and their customers will be maintained and managed by the traffic management team on site. Vehicles wishing to enter should approach the team at the closure gate and request access. Further assistance and direction will provided on approach, however there may be some unavoidable short delays or vehicles may be requested to approach from another access point. As they will be working in the carriageway they may need to clear equipment or materials away so that vehicles can pass safely, at times this may not be possible if works are ongoing and materials are in the process of being put down so vehicles may be asked to approach from another direction.
