All existing 43,400 streetlights, maintained by Suffolk County Council, will be replaced with greener, LED streetlights during 2021 to 2022. This will include some of the standard streetlights maintained by Suffolk County Council in Thurston.

Some of the work has already commenced in Thurston. During the work, black and yellow ‘Work Starts Here’ signs will appear on specific streets shortly before upgrades take place in that location.

To help answer any queries, SCC have created a dedicated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on the Suffolk County Council website at LED Streetlighting upgrade project | Suffolk County Council

Enquiries about the project can be made through Customer Services either via email: customer.services@suffolk.gov.uk or call 0345 606 6171 (phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm).
