Suffolk County Council are planning to carry out drainage works to clear blocked ditches and outfalls; cut new grips and replace sign posts along C560 Thurston Road, Beyton (as detailed below). The roads will be closed for the duration of the work to ensure that they can carry out their works safely.
Phase 1 closure: 12 – 18 April 2021
C560 Thurston Road – From junction with C562 Mount Road to A14 slip road.
Diversion (North of A14): C560, C427, C764, C693, C562 and vice versa.
Phase 2 closure: 19 – 28 April 2021
C560 Thurston Road – From A14 slip road to C427 The Green
Diversion (South of A14): C560, C427, C764, C693, C562 and vice versa.
As they plan roadworks in advance, they schedule extra days to allow for bad weather or other delays beyond their control. If they need to make major changes to their work dates, they will update the information signs on site.
A plan showing the diversion route for these works can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. When they close the road and put a diversion in place, the route needs to be accessible to vehicles of all shapes and sizes. They make their diversions as clear as possible by placing appropriate signing along the route. The latest updates on their works can be found on their website at"Temporary road closures for Suffolk Highways roadworks” and on One.Network website.
