Carpet Bowls

Thurston Carpet Bowls Club

Friendly club looking for new members. We meet on Wednesday evenings in the New Green Centre from 7.30pm. The cost per evening is £3 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. Tuition available if required. During the winter months we play in league matches in the Bury League and also a few inter-club matches on Sundays.

Mid Suffolk Croquet Club

If you are interested in learning more about croquet or would like to join our friendly club, you are welcome to come to our regular sessions. We meet in the New Green Centre on Wednesdays from 1.30pm - 4.30pm or Fridays from 10am - 1pm. Training avaiable for all new members, so why not come and give it a try?

Thurston Football Club

A friendly and well run club always looking for new players, coaches and volunteers to help out behind the scenes. We currently run 3 adult teams playing at the Cavendish Meadow and junior teams from under 10’s to under 20’s mostly playing at Thurston Community College. Also now running mini soccer teams for 2-6year olds on Monday evenings. If you or your children (boys and girls) would like to get involved in playing, coaching, helping out or you know of anyone with land available that could be used for pitches, then please contact the president - Darren Carter on 07723301916.  .

Mixed classes of juniors and adults held in Thurston Community College, Norton Road, Thurston. Classes take place on Wednesdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm and Fridays 7.00pm - 8.30pm. Just turn up and see!

Now in their 40th year, Thurston Rugby Club  continue to run two competitive  teams (plus a Vets side) both of which have enjoyed recent promotion  within their  leagues.
The club play games on Saturdays and welcome the whole community to come, watch and support the Rangers in  their campaign for the season. The clubhouse also benefits from a full stocked bar with guest ales, refreshments and food. We hold lots of different events down at the club, details of which can be found on our website and the venue itself can be hired out for private functions.

If you are interested in  playing, then get yourself down to training with our knowledgeable and experienced coaches where we train to play to a competitive standard whilst enjoying plenty of off pitch fun, ensuring for a great social life!

We welcome players of all ages (over 18), abilities and experience.

Thurston Running Club - New!

Suitable for all ages and abilities. Warm-up, timed sessions, range of distances and routes to suit all abilities, including one mile and 5K runs. The club, which is registered with the Association of Running Clubs, is led by a trainer who fully qualified and insured. £20 per year membership. Playing table tennis is a great way to get some exercise and stimulate your grey matter at the same time, as you define your strategy for your next game and decide the best tactics to employ to ensure a win.
